Research on Thai Women's Health During 1993-1995This descriptive study. "Research on Thai Women's Health During 1993-1995" aims to collect and establish a database on women's health research conducted in Thai society and aims to analyse knowledge gained from those studies. For 6 months during 1995/1996, 564 women's health research studies were collected from 22 institutions. A database using Foxbase was established. Following are major findings: 1)Forty percent of the research collected emphasizes female reproductive health. Pregnancy is the most researched, followed by family planning, postpartum care, delivery, sexual relation, abortion, and menopause 2)Ninety-six percent of the study research is quantitative study research and four percent is qualitative study research. The majority are master theses. 3)Married women of reproductive age is the group most studied in the research. The majority of the studies were conducted in the central part of Thailand, especially in Bangkok.4)The top 10 topics emphasized in the studies are pregnancy, mental health, birth control, caring, cancer, AIDS, postpartum care, self-care, surgery and child bearing. 5)The topics on which the most knowledge is gained from the studies concern the health of reproductive women in terms of reproductive women's health status, numbers of reproductive women, and what factors relate to their health status. 6)Knowledge gathered from the studies does not sufficiently present health status and health problems of women in all age groups and centexts.
