บทคัดย่อ
Health management and financing study project ADBTA. 2997-THAThe public health sector has been largely shielded from Thailand's recent economic crisis, however there are certain structural problems which reduce efficiency, equity and control over costs. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) as part of its Social Sector Program Loan (SSPL) has funded three technical assistance projects, one for the health sector titled "Health Management and Financing Study Project". The project has activities under two areas: health service reform and health financing. Under health service reform, the project will focus on improving the deployment of health personnel, increasing the efficiency of the referral system, and developing materials to support the implementation of autonomy of a government hospital. With respect to health financing, the project will provide information and recommendations concerning: improvement in the control of costs under the CSMBS, merging of the SSS and WCS schemes, increasing coverage under the VHCS, and improving targeting of the LICS.
