บทคัดย่อ
Thailand is becoming an aging community. Elderly (age over 65 years) in Thailand
is now estimated around 5.3 million (8 percent of the population). In the next 10 years
the number of elderly will be 10 million (12-15 percent of population). In 30 years, it is
postulated that 25% of population will be the elderly and one-third of the population
will be in the geriatric age group in 50 years. The most common health problem in the
elderly is related to neurological conditions such as Stroke, Dementia, Parkinsonism and
other neurodegenerative disorders. Health problems related to Brain-Mind-Behavior are
not restricted to the elderly but they are also involved in all age groups. Depression is the
most common condition related to health problem of all people worldwide. Challenging
health problems related to Brain-Mind-Behavior in Thailand are thus focusing in 4
conditions, i.e. Stroke, Dementia, Parkinson’s disease and Depression. Combating all these
4 conditions in Thailand needs strategic planning, deep realizing, prompt actions, and
supporting from both government and non government organizations through research
and then implementation into the community
