Antimicrobial stewardship is an essential competency for all health care professions. Antimicrobial stewardship has incorporated managerial aspects as well as knowledge, awareness, and practice of antimicrobial use and resistance. Three health care professions including physicians, pharmacists, and veterinarians, are closely linked with antimicrobial utilization process and have major influence on national situation of antimicrobial resistance. Intervention on competency of health care professions is a part of national strategic plan on AMR directing at public knowledge on AMR and awareness of appropriate use of antimicrobials. The goal of this study is to develop a competency assessment tool of health care professions on antimicrobial resistance and stewardship that could be used to measure level of competencies of health professions as well as raise awareness among health professions. The study will focus on pre-service practice of 3 health professions including physicians, pharmacists, and veterinarians. The output of the study is the competency assessment that could be used as a tool to measure the awareness and practice of pre-service professions or as a mechanism for a health care organization to measure a level of professional commitment to cope with AMR. Researchers would like to express our sincerely gratitude to all contributions for the project on all aspects including supporting grant, steering the direction of the project, providing insights and comments, assisting data collection, managing the project, and many others. The special appreciation is on the financial support from the RTG-WHO Country Cooperation Strategy Program on AMR (CCS-AMR program) under the collaboration of Ministry of Public Health, World Health Organization, Thai Health Promotion Foundation, Health Systems Research Institute, and National Health Security Office (NHSO), Thailand. Without all parties, the project would not have been succeeded. The continuation of the competency assessment is still recommended as one of the future strategies.th_TH
