Social and health problems of the construction workersin the northeastThe study of "Social and Health Problems of the Construction Workers in The Northeast" aims to describle social and health status of the workers. Both quantitative and qualitative  methods including survey, non participant observations, focus  group discussions and in-depth interviews were used for data  collection. Three questionnaires were administrated to 812 construction workers and one questionnaire was for 44 foreman in the 44 study sites of Khon Kaen and Nong Kai provinces. Data gained from surveys are general information about appearance,  working status, life style, health status health seeking of the  workers. Social structure, ways of life and perception of  social and health problems of the workers were studied by using  qualitative method. Content analysis and descriptive statistic  were used for data analysis. Major findings are as follows.1.The majority of the construction workers are native Isaan (Northeast people). Rate of male and female workers is 2 : 1.  Age of the majority is between 16-35 years old. 2.Sixty three  percent of the workers stay in their home and 34 percent stay  in the campsites that are not in a good condition for living.      	3.All workers are in dangers due to unsafe and unfair working condition, poor protection by law, and powerlessness. 4.Health  problems are more influenced by social problems especially the  weakness of Labour Protections and Labour Realations than  health service
