Abstract
Numerous advanced high-throughput sequencing and data handling technologies have
been developed, providing powerful tools for genomics research and the advancement of
genomic medicines. The ultimate goal of this research project is to enhance the quality of life
for the Thai people through genomic medicine and advance genomic research. The objective
of this study is to provide genomics data, including whole genomes, whole exomes, and whole
transcriptomes, from patients with colorectal cancer (CRC) admitted to Chulabhorn Hospital.
Paired tumor and adjacent normal tissues from 15 CRC patients were subjected to short-read
whole genome and whole transcriptome sequencing. Additionally, paired tumor and adjacent
normal tissues from 30 CRC patients underwent short-read whole exome sequencing. The
present study presents the mutational profile and differential gene expression profile of each
sample. The sequencing data were collected and submitted to the Genomics Thailand
database, enabling the analysis of genomic variations and their associations with clinical data.
The findings may contribute to the development of genomic medicine, leading to improved
cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment strategies. Moreover, this study established
bioinformatics pipelines for genomics data analysis, utilized high-performance computing
resources, and developed tissue collection procedures, all of which could support future
genomic research.
