Abstract
The purpose of this study was to consider the result of the management of
Rongkwang Hospital in “sufficient economy.” The authors planned continuous management
and changed the way of creating suitable benefits for consumers, care-givers and
the hospital. This retrospective study compared financial liquidity, the quality of healthcare
services, the contentment of officers with the “sufficient economy” theory both premanagement
and post-management. Result of the study indicated that the average in-crease in financial liquidity was 80.82 percnt, which in pre-value and post-value measure
were 0.99 and 1.80, respectively. The decreased expenses included the public utility’s
value at 7.64, investigated material’s value at 0.08, and supportive medicine’s value at
28.63. The value of other materials was 10.42 when the quality service of health care in
the remedication rate for seven days decreased from 2 to 0.01 percent, the readmission
rate decreased in 28 days from 3.16 to 3.05 percent, the OPD consumer contentment rate
increased from 84.62 to 95.49 percent, the IPD consumer contentment rate increased
from 87.61 to 100 percent and the officer contentment rate increased from 74.75 to 75.31
percent. In conclusion, the result shows that management, in utilizing the principle of a
“sufficient economy” in Rongkwang Hospital, increased its financial liquidity without
any adverse effect on the quality of health-care services and the satisfaction of the officers
concerned.
